Organizer of the festival is the company Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen g Gmb H which is owned by the City of Oberhausen.
Main sponsor of the festival is the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia. International Competition: The International Competition is meant to present artistic developments, in particular new tendencies, in international short film and video production for discussion, regardless of national representation.
The films will also be available to industry professionals for viewing during the festival..
Filmmakers whose entries have been selected for competition will be informed by email only in mid-March 2010.
On one condition: they must come to Oberhausen to present their work in person.
The registration period begins with the announcement of the competition selections in mid-March.
It is not mandatory to reserve a seat with ICE International. You will receive a confirmation of your seat reservation stating the carriage number and seat number.

Films and videos submitted will automatically be considered for all suitable categories as well as for the special programmes and the Video Library, unless stated otherwise (see paragraph 14).
Deadline for submissions to the competitions is 15 January 2010 (date of receipt) for international productions and 15 February 2010 (date of receipt) for German productions. Online submissions via Reelport ( shall be accepted. A confirmation of the receipt of a submission cannot be provided.
For all films that do not make the final cut, the festival will once again offer an Open Screening.
Launched in 2009, this programme gives filmmakers who have submitted a work that was not selected for competition the opportunity to still show their film to the festival audience.
